James Turnbull is an engineering leader, author, and open source developer. James is SVP of Engineering at Convergint. He was formerly the CTO at Smartrr, VP of Engineering at Timber (acquired by Datadog), CTO-in-residence at Microsoft, CTO/Founder at Empatico, and CTO at Kickstarter and in leadership roles at Docker, Venmo, and Puppet. James was chair of O'Reilly's Velocity conference, advises a number of startups, as well as writing and teaching.
